Annette Jongsma, LPC Associate and National Certified Counselor, is a compassionate and trauma-informed therapist, bringing 10 years of experience in acute inpatient and outpatient settings to her practice. Her therapeutic approach draws on evidence-based strategies from CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing. With her calm demeanor and genuine passion for supporting individuals struggling with emotional challenges, substance use issues, and co- occurring disorders, Annette endeavors to empower her clients toward healing and improved quality of life.
Annette grew up in The Netherlands and moved to the United States at the age of 24. She earned an associate's degree from Norwalk Community College, bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Bridgeport, and LPN credential in Florida. Annette’s academic journey culminated in the attainment of an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Bridgeport, where she graduated at the top of her class and was honored with the Clinical Mental Health Leadership Award.
Annette’s professional experience includes working with clients from a vast array of backgrounds, particularly older adults, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those grappling with addiction and substance use disorders. She advocates for increased mental health training within communities and employs a range of evidence-based counseling techniques, including 12-step approaches, to facilitate recovery and promote well-being.
