Sam is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree from the Columbia University School of Social Work and a Bachelor of Psychology degree from Sacred Heart University. For the past decade she has experience working with individuals across the lifespan and families in a variety of psychiatric and medical settings.
Sam’s primary therapeutic goal is to comprehensively assess an individual’s needs and their areas of concerns and to render compassionate care to alleviate emotional discomfort and distress. She has experience working with people with a broad range of presenting concerns.
Sam is passionate about supporting her clients as they navigate through their unique life journeys. She provides empathetic therapeutic care by drawing upon skills from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Sam approaches her clients’ care with unconditional positive regard by promoting an individual’s self-worth, self-understanding, and personal growth. Sam is a strong advocate for mental health awareness and reducing stigma surrounding mental illnesses.
