Is This You?

You've tried. It just hasn't worked.

SPRAVATO is designed for people who have already tried antidepressants — and found they weren't enough. If any of these sound familiar, you may be a candidate:

  • You've tried two or more antidepressants without meaningful relief
  • You've spent months — sometimes years — adjusting doses and trying new medications
  • Depression is still significantly affecting your work, relationships, or daily life
  • You're ready to try something that works differently

SPRAVATO targets the glutamate system — a completely different pathway than traditional antidepressants — and many patients notice a difference within hours of their first session.

What to Expect

A structured, supervised treatment.

Every session takes place in our Milford office. You self-administer the nasal spray under direct medical supervision, then rest in a comfortable monitored setting for about 2 hours before being cleared to leave. You'll need a ride home.

Weeks 1–4
Induction
Two sessions per week. This phase builds the foundation — most patients begin noticing changes here.
Weeks 5–8
Optimization
One session per week. Your care team monitors your response and adjusts the plan as needed.
Ongoing
Maintenance
Frequency is tailored to you — some patients continue weekly, others taper as they stabilize.
During each session you may experience mild dissociation or drowsiness — this is expected, temporary, and why every session is medically supervised. Most patients describe it as manageable and short-lived.
Why CMHS

SPRAVATO works best alongside therapy.
Here, both happen under one roof.

Most SPRAVATO providers are psychiatry-only practices. At CMHS, the psychiatrist prescribing your SPRAVATO and your therapist are on the same care team — talking to each other, coordinating your treatment, and adjusting the plan together.

Certified SPRAVATO Treatment Center
We meet all REMS program requirements for SPRAVATO administration — your safety and care are fully protocol-compliant.
Coordinated care — not a referral network
Your psychiatrist, therapist, and APRN work together in the same practice. You never have to repeat your history or chase down records.
Same-week consultations available
We move quickly. If SPRAVATO is right for you, we work to get your first session scheduled without a long wait.
Common Questions

Questions about SPRAVATO.

SPRAVATO (esketamine) is derived from ketamine but is a distinct FDA-approved medication specifically for treatment-resistant depression. Unlike compounded ketamine infusions offered at some clinics, SPRAVATO is a regulated pharmaceutical covered by most major insurance plans and administered under a standardized, protocol-compliant program called REMS. The two are related — but not the same.
No. SPRAVATO is used alongside an oral antidepressant, not as a replacement for it. Your CMHS psychiatrist will review your current medications during your consultation to ensure the combination is appropriate and safe for you. Most patients continue their existing regimen throughout treatment.
Many patients notice a difference within hours of their first session. Clinical data shows meaningful symptom relief for a significant portion of patients within the first two to four weeks of the induction phase. This speed of onset is one of SPRAVATO's most important distinctions from traditional antidepressants, which often take four to six weeks to show any effect.
No. SPRAVATO can cause temporary drowsiness or mild dissociation, so you cannot drive or operate heavy machinery on the day of each session. You'll need to arrange a ride home after every appointment. We'll remind you of this when scheduling so it's easy to plan ahead.
Not everyone responds the same way, and your CMHS care team monitors your progress closely throughout the induction phase. If SPRAVATO isn't producing the results you're looking for, your psychiatrist and therapist will work with you to explore other options — including medication adjustments and alternative approaches within your broader treatment plan. You're never left without a next step.
