About Brenda

Brenda works with clients on anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment concerns, and life transitions. She has a particular focus on the psychological side of illness and medical care: what a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or a long stretch of not feeling well does to the rest of your life. That focus comes from more than fifteen years inside Yale New Haven Health, first on hospital floors in oncology, internal medicine, and psychiatry, then coordinating medication assistance for patients in the oncology and immunology care centers.

Her approach is individualized and integrative, drawing on CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and solution-focused work, and shaped by cultural awareness. She works collaboratively, builds on what clients already do well, and aims for a room where people feel heard, respected, and supported. Brenda is a native Spanish speaker and sees clients in both English and Spanish.

Brenda holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, both from Southern Connecticut State University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC).

Brenda sees clients through CMHS in Milford, CT and via secure telehealth across Connecticut. Not sure who’s the right fit? Our team will match you — start here.
