A licensed therapist or psychiatrist by secure video — without the drive, the parking, or the waiting room.
The same clinicians, the same coordinated care as our Milford offices — your therapist and psychiatrist still work from one plan, whether you’re on the couch or in the office.
Most insurance accepted, and actually accepting new patients.
How online therapy works
Online therapy at CMHS is not a separate service with separate people. It’s our same Milford team of therapists and psychiatric clinicians you’d see in the building, meeting you over a secure video link instead of across the room. Same session length, same approach, same chart.
For a lot of people it’s the difference between getting care and not: no commute, no time off work, no childcare puzzle, no winter driving. And the research on video-delivered therapy is consistent: for most people and most concerns, outcomes track closely with in-person care.
Is it right for you?
How we approach it

Video and in-person aren’t two tiers of care here; they’re two doors into the same care. Start online and move to the office later, or the reverse, without changing clinicians. Psychiatric appointments work over video too, so therapy and medication management can both happen from wherever you are.
If something ever needs to happen in person, our two Milford offices are the home base. And because your whole care team is in one practice, the switch is a calendar change, not a referral.
What to expect
You’ll get a private video link before each session. No software to install, and it works on a phone, tablet, or computer. Find a reasonably private spot, headphones help, and that’s the whole setup. Sessions are covered by insurance the same way office visits are: we’re in-network with Aetna, Anthem, Cigna, ConnectiCare, Optum, and UnitedHealthcare.
Online sessions are available to anyone in Connecticut, and most new clients have their first appointment within a week of reaching out.
